JACQUE'S JOURNEY

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

My Story

I could write a whole page on my life's journey, my ups and down in weight, my health issues (and I do have a lot of them), but you don't care about that.  If you look at my progress photos below, you'll see that I'm overweight and that I'm working on it. So this is a journey we will absolutely be taking together.

It's been roughly 10 years since I was a personal trainer. I've partaken in the 10 years younger in 10 hours routine by Callan Pickney ( CALLANETICS®) off and on for 25 years. So I'm definitely no novice. Aside from that, In my personal training journey I became experienced in Zumba, Belly Dance, Tae-Kwon-do, weight lifting, running, Pilates, XP90, Insanity, T25, Dance Now, and Yoga. All of which had me going back to CALLANETICS®, for the results. I particularly like pairing it with yoga. Currently, I have my CALLANETICS® license and I'm enrolled in a 500 hours Yoga Instructor Program to allow me to bring the best and safest experience to my clients.

My Progress

To achieve the results below, no changes were made to my diet, nor an intended increase in activity level outside of CALLANETICS® This was specifically the 10 years younger in 10 hours program. The routine was completed 2xs a week for the first 10 sessions, then increased to 3xs a week for the next 10 sessions. On the 15th day, I increased to the advanced workout.

Again, these results are purely exercise, no change in diet, and no other change in physical activity. Although I gained a significant amount of strength in the next ten sessions, my results were not as extreme as in the first 10 sessions. That is largely due to softened muscles having already pulled up, in, and firming up so drastically from the first 10 classes. As you can also see, pushing harder and exercising 3 days a week rather than 2 doesn't have a significant difference. My body quickly adjusted to the change, and I failed to burn additional fat. However, between sessions 10 and 20, is when Started to notice things that are not so obvious in the photos. I...

  • Am significantly stronger

  • My thighs are much more toned

  • Beginning to see the line of my muscles on my upper and inner thighs when I move (Even just walking)

  • Clothing fits much more comfortably

  • Starting to feel the bones of my ribs and hips

  • Have more energy

  • No menstrual pain my last 2 cycles

  • Fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly

  • Significant improvement in mobility

  • Significant improvement in flexibility

  • Improved cardiovascular health

  • Improved blood glucose levels

  • Improved libido

Some things to look for / be aware of with the photos below:

  • The shorts are stretchy jean shorts - make note of the way they fit (loosening and riding lower),

  • Loosening of skin (not so full with fat),

  • posture,

  • firming of muscles,

  • lengthening effects,

  • lifting and rounding specifically in the butt and chest,

  • disappearance of the small hump below the back of neck,

  • You'll also notice that cellulite seemed to increase after the 10th but decrease after 20th. - That is a natural phenomenon. Lighting also plays a major role in how obvious the pitting is.

As exercises are performed, everything shifts; it will feel like your stomach is maybe even getting bigger, but it's NOT. This is a temporary effect as the posture corrects. My stomach felt bigger as my posture corrected; however, the photos show otherwise.

Stay tuned, I'll post results after the next 10 sessions. This time I will be making some major changes to various things in my lifestyle.

I will be reporting the progress I have made with this in 5 weeks.

In the meantime, I learned a great deal from the book, 'The Obesity Code - Unlock The Secrets Of Weight Loss' by Jason Fung, M.D. It has put so much in perspective, filled in all the blanks of why people can't lose weight, or why when they do they quickly gain it back even if they try to stick to the same diet and exercise routine. It's been so insightful. I've also learned a great deal about consuming fats, fiber, protein, carbs, white and wheat, the process of making food, as well as Cortisol, Insulin, Insulin resistance, etc and how all that plays a role in body fat, diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure. (All things I struggle with).
